Vintage 2017
The vintage 2017 started with an arid winter, which led to occasional winter damage, especially in our Pinot Blanc vineyards. A very mild spring caused an early budding of the vines. Therefore, the below-zero night at the end of April caused frost damage in many vineyards in the valley. Thanks to antifrost candles, we could avoid severe damages. The weather during the blossom was beautiful. We had many sunshine hours and little rainfall in summer. Only in August, a few heavy downpours occurred. We started harvesting early, at the beginning of September, which was very challenging due to many rainy days. All in all, the 2017 vintage was a small one relative to volume. However, we are delighted with the quality of the wine.
